Leah Pendl-Robinson
Leah graduated from Mount Holyoke College (MHC) with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies. She did a semester away at The Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) and The University of Chicago's Semester in Environmental Science (SES) program. There she worked with Emil Ruff's lab to assess methane production from methanogenic microorganisms in a newly formed beaver pond and presented her findings at the end of semester research symposium. Upon graduating from MHC, she worked on Alaska's North Slope with the MBL's Arctic LTER (long term ecological research) lakes team for the summer months before returning to the SES program as a microbial research assistant and resident advisor. Leah joined the Deniz Lab in the fall of 2023 to research the function of several novel congenital hydrocephalus gene variants in the hydrocephalus pathogenesis found in hydrocephalus patients.
